Gunmetal

Gunmetal is our standard finish, and is mild steel, dark anthracite in colour. Before it leaves our factory, we oil treat it to protect it. Treat it like a wok, and if any surface rusts appears, rub it down and apply any vegetable oil to protect once or twice a year. If kept under cover, should be trouble free.

CorTen

CorTen is our pre-rusted finish, made of a special copper impregnated steel that rusts as a protective layer, not corrosion – this is an expensive material, hence the price differential. It will last several decades untreated, and is the same material as the Angle of the North. Perfect for that instant rustic or industrial look. Needs almost no treatment, and can be left outside without covers.

The Asado Gunmetal Outdoor Kitchen Bundle brings together our original Asado Grill with our Grande prep tables to provide the perfect instant outdoor kitchen set-up. Use the tables to prep food, or as a base for maybe a pizza oven or a Kamado.

No building works, nor complex designs, just a simple solution delivered fully assembled to you in a week or 2, which you can take with you too if you move house, or even put away for Winter if needed.

Total length with removable side tables: 3.44m, removing these reduces to 2.64m

What's Included:

Asado Gunmetal Grill with Wood Store

Our Asado Grill provides you with an easy and authentic wood-fired Argentinian cooking experience, time after time.

Simple to light, and with easy temperature control using the unique height-adjustable grill with multiple cooking zones makes it great fun to cook on.

With a whopping 660mm x 320mm of flexible cooking space, plus the top of the ember maker, it’s bigger than many large family barbecues.

Made from heavy-duty steel with a 304 stainless steel grill, the Gunmetal finish is treated with oil for protection. Over time, it can develop a natural patina if not re-oiled, similar to seasoning a cast-iron pan.

Two Grande Gunmetal Prep Tables

Mounted on heavy-duty lockable castor wheels, ensuring the grill is easy to move around - or opt for levelling feet.

Each preparation table has a work surface area of 940mm x 700mm.

Asado Accessories

Single Chapa perfect for cooking everything from vegetables, fish, bacon & eggs to smash burgers. Designed to replace one of the 3 V grill sections in a modular system, fitting perfectly on the Asado Grill frame, giving you full heat control. Made from 3mm 304 stainless steel.

Rotisserie with an electric motor and a skewer made from 8mm high grade stainless and 2 stainless forks. The skewer measures approximately 36 inches in length and is in one full section (no join in the middle). This allows for a heavier load up to a maximum balanced weight of 10kg. You will also receive a counter balance which assists in getting the skewer balanced with an even weight all round. It comes with 2 stainless steel brackets that fit onto the Grill frame, all nuts and bolts included.

Ember Grill fits right on top of the unique Ember Maker, so you can sear steaks and vegetables directly over the flames. Perfect for when you are reverse searing a steak. Made from 3mm 304 stainless steel.

Meat Hooks and Chain. Perfect for cooking meat on the bone over live fire. From rib beef to legs of lamb, this beautifully simple bit of kit you're sure to love. Photos are the rib beef we did for Christmas dinner. They tasted amazing and were a great way to spend Christmas morning. Chain and 4 S hooks included!

Cattle Grid Grill perfect for direct flame cooking for reverse searing steaks, as the larger gaps allow more access

Asado Kebab Rack: perfect for cooking skewered meats from Lamb kofta and Seekh Kebabs to Picanha.

Asado Tapa: The Tapa is a specially designed lid that allows you to use your Asado Grill as an outdoor oven and smoker, and opens up a whole number of new cooking methods

Can my Asado Gunmetal be left outside year-round?

Yes, our grills are designed to be outside all year round, with autumn and winter being our favourite times of year for wood-fire cooking. When not in use, put the cover on.

How does my Gunmetal grill weather?

Your Gunmetal Grill base is raw steel, so if left untreated it will gain a rusty patina over time. For this reason, we pre-oil your Gunmetal Grill with rapeseed oil for protection so you just need to add fire to finish the seasoning process off - just like seasoning a wok or cast-iron pan.

Long-term you have two options:

Option 1: Keep seasoning your Gunmetal grill and keep covered when not in use. The ember maker will need a quick coating of rapeseed oil after each cook due to the heat in this area, whereas the rest of the grill will just need doing when needed.

Option 2: Let it weather naturally and develop its own patina over time. The thickness of the raw steel base means it will last 10 years without any issues.
